Wow! Here’s another Bollywood Celebrity Wedding! Imran and Avantika began the new year with their wedding, and now there’s another one — Neelam Kothari and Samir Soni. Wait, so who are they? Neelam Kothari is a retired Bollywood actress who has her own jewelry line, and Samir Soni…well you can read the rest on Wikipedia. Also, I’ve read that Lara Dutta was thrown a surprise Hen Party (Bachelorette) in Dubai, so I’m sure she will soon be wed to Mahesh Bhupathi. Alright, enough with Bollywood gossip! I’ll leave that to Honey Singh from @TheDailyHoney. Check out this Gujarati bride’s wedding attire:
I absolutely LOVE her panetar lehenga saree! It’s so classy and modern while still retaining the traditional elements of cream/white saree with a red border. Also, I’m taking this picture to my florist (when I get one!) to make varmalas (garlands) like these for our wedding ceremony!

I didn’t really like her reception lehenga, but the velvet added a nice regal touch:

ALERT: BOLLYWOOD SHAADI SONG Tumba Tumba - Patiala House
A new shaadi song for your sangeet or mehendi. It’s more of a Punjabi sangeet song, but it will definitely get you dancing.
“Woh hi Din Agaya” - Kisna
This song is so perfect for any Mehendi Night playlist! Although I didn’t like the movie very much, I absolutely loved the soundtrack. You can never go wrong with A.R. Rahman!

For second-generation Indian Hindus, Bollywood is symbolic of love and romance in India. “Bollywood Weddings” are a widely accepted if not recognized way to display one’s Indian heritage and Hindu faith on the most significant rite-of-passage in one’s life. —KAVITA RAMDYA

This is indeed one of my favorite hindi songs! Perfect shaadi song! (via bollywoodfairytale)
Bollywood goes Gujarati…okay, not really…just for the movie What’s Your Rashee starring Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja.

Okay, so this post isn’t really for dulhan fashion, but wouldn’t it be so cute if you had an Old Bollywood theme for your wedding/reception and dressed up your bridesmaids in one of these?!

Inspiration Board: Bollywood Red Carpet GLAM SHAM
We all know that the RED CARPET is often associated not only with the rich and famous, but also with high fashion, style, and sophistication. Here’s a board that I hope can inspire your Indian wedding or reception.

Recently, I saw engagement photo session that was inspired by Old Hollywood on the blog Style Me Pretty. The modern twist on vintage was brilliant, and the couple looked fabulous with the props and clothing. The photography was flawless, and I was transported back to the 1950s.
I began wondering…How amazing would it be to have an “Old Bollywood” inspired engagement photo session?! Then, I actually found a couple (Amy & Viven) who did it! It’s such a unique idea! I love it!

Bollywood has done a few remakes of Old Bollywood movies including Devdas, Parineeta, and Khoya Khoya Chand. I’ve included a few pictures from the hindi movie Khoya Khoya Chand, mainly because the couple poses are so appropriate for an engagement photo session. Aren’t they lovely?

I’m sure our parents would be thrilled with the idea of an “Old Bollywood” style photo session!
‘Aisha’ Hindi movie stills
I recently saw the trailer for Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol’s (*swoon*) film ‘Aisha’ based on Jane Austen’s novel Emma, and I fell in love with Sonam’s white, silver, and lilac lehenga by Anamika Khanna with platinum/silver jewlery. She looks so elegant!
Her eye makeup and nude lip color are divine…

A fun baraat song called “Gal Meethi Meethi Bol” from the movie. I’m loving the soundtrack and I hope the movie does not disappoint!
Here’s another ‘Aisha’ movie still. It looks like she’s wearing Anamika Khanna again. I like her lehenga, but not the jewelry.
